Teams: vets and vintage

Brief resume for the season

Pretty close to 40 players have represented the club this season and once the final match is played on 25th April we will have fulfilled 50 fixtures.

The first team had a great first half but have been hit hard by the loss of their number one Martin McInroy to injury (broken leg) for the second half. The final game at home to Ebbisham on 25th April will decide whether they are relegated (support very much welcomed).

The second team have done wonderfully well this season. Seeded 7 in Div 4 they have won 10 games out of 14 including doing the double over the league champions but missed out on promotion.

The third and fourth teams were run as 2 roughly equal strength squads in Div 5 and finished a creditable 4th and 5th out of 7 teams. The Fourth team finished 6 points ahead of the thirds (mainly because the 4ths received 2 walk-overs) but in the games that really mattered (ie the ‘grudge matches’ between the two sides) the thirds prevailed both times in close (enjoyable) battles!
