Presentation

Our Club is run by members for the members, therefore all events, etc. are run on a voluntary basis. This also applies to the bar - although we do have regulars who man the bar on weekdays.

We have four courts, approximately 15 adult leagues, a handicap competition and, around Easter each year, we hold our Club Closed tournament which lasts for two weeks.
Details of the leagues and other competitions can be found on the notice boards in the entrance corridor at the Club. You are strongly recommended to join the leagues, which are very well supported, since a failure to register `challenge' games results in omission from the following league period.

Every Tuesday evening, from 6pm onwards, we have our Club Night. Members of all standards are invited to attend, paying only £2.00 for as many 20 minute matches as can be physically coped with! The Club Night procedure will be explained to you when you arrive.

We currently have four men's, two vets' and one ladies' teams, all of whom participate in the Surrey Divisions. Should you want to find out more about team squash, there is a full list of team captains next to the telephone at the Club, or contact the team secretaries listed below. Alison Cumings (now Malynn), at one time ranked no. 4 in the world in ladies' squash is our Club coach.

Court Booking

Courts may be booked up to two weeks in advance. A session is 45 minutes and costs £3.50 (£1.00 for Juniors playing together off-peak). No pair of players may book consecutive courts. Members who hold these court stamps are Jacquie Phillips and Roger Crabb whose telephone numbers can be found at the front of the court bookings file next to the telephone at the Club. Alternatively, you may fill in an `honesty' envelope and place it in the safe. You will find the court bookings file, envelopes and the safe next to the telephone in the corridor or buy stamps over the bar. The cost for 10 stamps is £35.00.

Social

The Club is small and therefore friendly club, and much of the socialising is done `post-match' at the bar. On the first Friday of each month, our `100 Club' takes place. This is a social evening where we have a prize draw for varying sums of money and other prizes - food is also available. Should you wish to know more about this very popular evening, please contact Tony Fitzhugh 01737 249963 or come along on a first Friday.

Other `social/squash' events are arranged on an ad-hoc basis - please watch the notice boards and the News page on this site.

Joining

Please see the Membership page, which has details of prices. The membership form should be completed and returned to Jacquie Phillips. The return address is included in the form. Cheques should be payable to Reigate Squash Club. Upon joining, you will receive a key for the front door of the Club and a members' handbook, which gives you all members' names and telephone numbers, as well as details of the booking rules. (A £2 deposit will be required fort the Club key.)

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to having you as a member. Should you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact us at our email address: reigatesquash@googlemail.com
